Mission

We are a gathering of Men, Women, Children and Families organized and dedicated to the co-creation, development, and establishment of Shambhala~Shasta Nature Preserve and Eco-Village Research and Educational Project in North America, and creating Spaces of Love (a Kin's Domain) on our Motherland; so that within ourselves we will define the essence of the Earth, and become aware of our destined purpose; so that the thought of each one of us will be brought into contact with the thought of God; in order that all human thought will merge into one. We ascertain that in doing so, we will be able to feel and understand the aspirations of the Divine dream and the gates of Paradise will open.

We co-create our Spaces of Love, our Kin's Domains, inheritable only to our descendants, in a community of enlightened good and great souls, seeking CONJOINT CREATION WITH JOY FOR ALL IN CONTEMPLATION. We ascertain that in doing so, our thoughts will be transformed and our souls will become radiant with light.

We aspire to Live in Paradise the way God wanted us to, to regain our Pristine Origins, to build ourselves a Paradise that will come into contact with the Divine Thought, and produce a new co-creation together with Him. We ascertain that the turn for our new co-creation will come once the creation of Paradise has been completed.

We co-create our Spaces of Love in order that the grand energy of Love will dwell in our homes. We ascertain that the grand energy of Love and all the planets in creation will help us lead full lives, a life inherent in a child of God. In doing so, we take our place and rightful roles as Children of God.

Take back your Motherland, people!

Common Ground (adapted from the New Findhorn Association - NFA)

This is a Community which acknowledges the Spirit of Wholeness which manifests in All Forms of Life. We hold all Life to be Sacred as an aspect of the Divine.

We endeavor to align ourselves with this Spirit and aspire to serving that in our thoughts, our feelings and actions.

In accord with this aim:

In my PERSONAL LIFE I will endeavor

a. to act with integrity, embodying congruence in thought , word and action.
b. to take responsibility for my actions or mistakes and to be willing to listen openly to constructive feedback in order to support myself and others to grow
c. to be aware that what I see outside (criticisms, irritations or appreciations) may reflect what lies within me.

In my COMMUNITY LIFE I recognize that I am here to serve others and our planet, which means that I must also serve myself if I am to practice this effectively.

In all my relationships, both in and out of this Community I will practice respect for others and their rights in :

a. Communication — I will be clear, honest and caring in speech. In public and private I will not malign or demean others. I will seek to speak to them rather than about them. In listening I will practice openness and compassion.
b. Co-operation — I recognize that community is empowered by co-operation, good communication and participation and will act accordingly. I will communicate my decisions clearly with those who may be affected by them and consider their views respectfully. I will respect the care, integrity and wisdom of others decisions.
c. Non-violence — I agree not to inflict my attitudes or desires on others. I agree to intervene to stop or protest actions (including manipulation and intimidation) that I feel may be abusive to myself or others in the community.
d. Resolution of Disputes — I will make every effort to resolve disputes. In the event of a dispute continuing unresolved, I may call for a suitable mediation process to take place. I may also have access to a community Grievance Procedure. I agree to abide by the decisions of this process.
e. Agreements — I will keep the agreements that I make. I will respect and obey the Laws of the Land and the community’s rules and guidelines ; except in the event of conscientious objection, in which case I will act openly and accept due penalties. I will have honest dealings with all bodies and pay all charges and dues owing.

COMMUNITY VISION (adapted from NFA)

Diverse people and activities continue to be drawn to the Shambhala-Shasta Community, and now is the time for these threads to start weaving themselves into a rich new tapestry.

We envision an inspiring community which embraces:

Awareness of the presence of God in all aspects of our lives;
Relationships with each other and all people in the surrounding district that are marked by love, compassion, integrity, justice, tolerance and cooperation;
Living lightly on the Earth, in tune with natural rhythms and processes;
Enjoying a simple high-quality lifestyle, rich in human relationships and culture, rather than material goods;
A economy based on the ideal of right livelihood;
Diversity of race, ethnicity, color, religion, abilities, age, gender and sexual orientation;
Ecological, economic, social, cultural and spiritual sustainability.
Our task is now to bring these ideals into concrete reality. The Community Council aims to empower the Shambhala-Shasta Community to provide functions and services such as:

Economic development assistance, e.g. cooperative buying and marketing, a shared office for community businesses, an advice service for small businesses, and a Community Energy Bank;

Coordinated planning and management of the land next to Shambhala-Shasta Community for possible future growth in order to provide better services to the growing community;

A free conciliation service;

Family, health, education and other social services;

Coordination of arts and celebrations;

Links with the local community & district, including cooperation in economic development, education, health, social services, the arts and other areas.

Core Values (adapted from NFA)

Our Common Ground

The Common Ground is a statement of the common values of this international and widely diversified community. It is a living document, a code of conduct, and something we use as a tool for the transformation of ourselves, the way we relate to each other and the environment and, therefore, the world.

1. Spiritual Practice

I commit myself to active spiritual practice and to align with spirit to work for the greatest good.

2. Service

I commit myself to the service of others and to our planet, recognizing that I must also serve myself in order to practice this effectively.

3. Personal Growth

I commit myself to the expansion of human consciousness, including my own, and I recognise and change any of my personal attitudes or behavior patterns which do not serve this aim. I take full responsibility for the spiritual, environmental and human effects of all my activities.

4. Personal Integrity

I commit to maintain high standards of personal integrity, embodying congruence of thought, word and action.

5. Respecting Others

I commit wholeheartedly to respect other people (their differences, their views, their origins, backgrounds and issues), other people’s and the community’s property, and all forms of life, holding these all to be sacred and aspects of the divine.

6. Direct Communication

I commit to using clear and honest communication with open-listening, heart-felt responses, loving acceptance and straightforwardness . In public and in private I will not speak in a way that maligns or demeans others. I will talk to people rather than about them. I may seek helpful advice, but will not seek to collude.

7. Reflection

I recognize that anything I see outside myself - any criticisms, irritations or appreciations - may also be reflections of what is inside me. I commit to looking at these within myself before reflecting them to others.

8. Responsibility

I take responsibility for my actions and for my mistakes. I am willing to listen to constructive criticism and to offer constructive feedback to others in a caring and appropriate fashion, to challenge and support each other to grow.

9. Non-violence

I agree not to inflict my attitudes or desires (including sexual) on others. I agree to step in and stop, or at least say that I would like stopped, actions (including manipulation or intimidation) that I feel may be abusive to myself or others in the community.

10. Perspective

I take responsibility to work through and put aside my personal issues for the benefit of the whole community. I will resolve all personal conflicts as soon as possible. I acknowledge that there may be wider perspectives than my own and deeper issues than those that may immediately concern me.

11. Co-operation

I recognize that this is a spiritual community and that it functions only through my co-operation and my good communication. I agree to communicate my decisions clearly. I agree to communicate with others who may be affected by my actions and decisions and to consider their views carefully and respectfully. I recognize that others may make decisions which affect me and I agree to respect the care, integrity and wisdom that they have put into their decision-making process.

12. Resolution

I commit to make every effort to resolve disputes. At any time in a dispute I may call for an advocate, friend, independent observer or mediator to be involved.

13. Agreements

I commit to keeping agreements I have made and not to break or try to evade any laws, rules, or guidelines; to have honest dealings with all bodies.

14. Commitment

I commit to exercising the spirit of this statement of Common Ground in all my dealings.
